columbus organized a trip in which he came to America, he died believing he had reached America, but came to an unknown continent that no one knew of its existence and since there is a meeting of all cultures.
ReplyDeleteBartolome de Las casas they refer to as a man who helped and defended the rights of Indians, embarked for the Spanish and collaborated in several wars.
Eduardo Galeano refer to as a man who had many problems which were very strong and was even imprisoned for their crimes, but otherwise was a very important man.
Christopher Columbus is a man known as the discoverer of America but in fact it was not porq He thought he had reached America but really came to a continent which is unknown in all cultures joined.
my family and I brought my lifestyle as Dominicans we are, our emotions are raising our dreams and Logar meet our goals, we believe that Christopher Columbus found was not a bad man and that he just wanted to further his ambitions.
Note from author: I wasn't sure how to write it, so it may sound like an autobiography. And I'm not sure if it's about two pages, I'm sorry if it isn't.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Glendaly. As a young women living in the tribe of the Tainos, I'm depended on to do a lot of the caring for the old and the young, and helping the older women in the village with the cooking. I've been improving these skills over the year so when I'm old and a mother, I'll be the one who has everyone depended on with the everyday necessities.
Those are only the few things I do everyday. I'm still a girl.
Being a girl, there is always tension between the boys and us. Were are always looked down upon because we are female, and they are male. If I must say so myself, I happen to be a great wrestler - I would be the last one standing, while everyone else is on the floor, whimpering! Who's the one on top now?
Home is one place that is most sacred to me. It is where my mother care for my baby brother and grandmother. She's exactly what I want to become when I'm her age. My father is the one of chief's close companions village. He's always protecting us all from the dangers that lurk around us (nearby predators: tigers, bears.). He was also a hunter. He helped bring the food that we all eat. His bravery is another aspect that makes home so marvelous. His bravery and determination, and my mothers humbleness and dedication brings me nothing but inspiration to do the best I can today. I want to be respect in this community, and be seen as more that just a girl.
I want to become chief.
I don't know if it's possible for me to do so, but I would love to out shine all of the men and boys at the village. Show them that women, too, can become leaders and bring straight in everyone. Father says that I'm chosen to do something marvelous in my life. I beg the heavens that it'd be me becoming chief.
The day the strangers came, the whole village didn't know what to expect. 'Maybe they were sent to bring us good fortune,' my father told my mother. 'Not possible,' my mother would reply back.
Because my father and all of the other head men in our tribes wanted to bring peace to the new comers, I found the myself always following them around, trying to figure out the new comers. They were so strange looking; nothing I've never seen before. They were covered up with clothing that looked so extravagant, I never knew such clothing pieces would exist. They had clothing on their feet, too! And it rose up to there knees. They're skin was pale, and watching their chief interact with our chief was so awkward. Without observing the differences between then, it was noticeably there! Something I would have never expected to see in my life time.
The new comers and our community interacting in different ways over the next couple of nights. They were interacting in ways I didn't know if I could trust. It was difficult to think of what they would do next, it was unexpected.
Until mother got sick.
Her sickness was something new to me, something I've never seen before. Not long after, we found her, motionless, with bumps across her face.
I would never forget her motionless body.

When these men came, I did not know what emotion to adjust to; shall I be joyful or mourning, shall I be prepared and ready or should I sit back and wait to see what their destined purpose was? My mother said they came to help us with the evil spirit Atabei. I have a feeling about these men and it is one feeling I do not think I have ever felt before. I believe in Yucao I know she has sent them purposely for positive reasons, she has never failed us before. Maybe Yucao did not send these creatures and they are apart of Atabei’s plan. When I served them with Drinks, fresh food and washed their feet, I observed that these men are of not our kind, they are very pale skinned and retain too much clothing. These Pale-Males seem to just sit around observe and take control of everything, when helping someone else or a culture your not yet adjusted to you usually tend to be the one in the background adjusting and allowing others to show you around. Men of this such I do not want when I am older, they have already made some of my people their mistresses and slave like people. We do not partake in such activity; I think my people are blind and close-minded because they think these men are holy blessed warriors, so they can do as they please and everything will be ok. So far, everything has been down falling, our food level has decreased, and more women are sick and I think these Pale-Males have killed some of our men in the family the strongest at yet. More and more men come every visit and they have been becoming more demanding and less cooperative. They took some of my people and I think it is time that I tell Chief my observations and the results… I will come back and record more information if I am not the next person that is captured and held hostage.
Christopher Columbus that Spanish was embarked on three caravels wanted to discover America but discovered an known island that lived on that island but the formats Indians chose Indians because I wanted to separate the island into two different countries. But my family believes that discovered America and that's a good person.
